Ten days without news: Bahman's family gravely concerned

The family of Bahman Daroshsafaei say they are gravely concerned about the wellbeing of their imprisoned son, who hasn't called home for ten days.

Bahman was detained on 3 February, and his family have struggled since to obtain credible information about their son.

In their last visit to Evin prison, where their son is believed to be held, an official who had previously spoken to them on the phone refused to do so again, and said, according to someone at the prison who relayed his message: "I have no information about your son. He's in the [interrogators'] hands."

This latest remark has aggravated concerns after a week of constant pursuit, in which Bahman's family appealed to Iranian officials, including the Minister for Justice, the Minister for Intelligence, and President Rouhani - all to no avail.

Iranian authorities are yet to comment on Bahman's case. It seems no one knows why he's been detained but those who've detained him. And those who might know anything about those who have detained him, it seems, are not willing - or allowed - to talk.
